Watch two fully armed B-52s arrive in England as RAF Fairford now hosts 23 strategic bombers during Operation Epic Fury in the Middle East. This is in addition to four bombers (including B-1 Lancers) launching on the same day and multiple cargo aircraft arriving. It is owned by the UK government but leased to the US government for their operations. Permission was given for the base to be used by a forward deployment of bombers on Operation Epic Fury in the Middle East. At its height there are at least 23 bombers on the ground. The newly arriving B-52 Stratofortresses (‘BUFF’) shown in this video are from the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB) in Louisiana, while others are from the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB in North Dakota.
