After 10 years of exploration and discovery, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission has officially come to a close with the end of its sample analysis phase.
From launching toward asteroid Bennu and collecting a sample from its surface to successfully delivering the largest asteroid sample ever collected in space to Earth, OSIRIS-REx has helped scientists uncover new insights into the origins of our solar system and the building blocks of life.
While the OSIRIS-REx mission has concluded, the spacecraft’s journey continues. Now known as OSIRIS-APEX, it is headed toward asteroid Apophis for the next chapter of exploration.
