The modernized Iskander , Onyx, and Zircon missiles in the Russian occupiers' arsenal remain "blind spots" for us, according to the Ukrainian portal Defense Express , which analyzed data released by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the current missile arsenal Russia uses to strike us.
It is known that the enemy military-industrial complex produces 100 ballistic missiles per month, and the total stockpile amounts to more than 700 ballistic and several thousand cruise missiles.
"At the same time, it's important to identify 'blind spots' that, if filled, would make the current picture more complete. First and foremost, the upgraded Iskander missile system, with its increased firing range of 550-700 kilometers, remains somewhat of a mystery," analysts note.
Development of this missile system is currently reported to be ongoing. Therefore, it is unclear whether it is ready for use or still undergoing test launches "under range conditions."
At the same time, it is stated that the current stockpile of 9M723 ballistic missiles for the Iskander operational-tactical missile system is 115 units, with a monthly production rate of 65 units. In other words, the Russians strive to maintain a stockpile of Iskanders equivalent to two months of production.
Regarding the 3M22 Zircon ballistic missiles, the current inventory is said to be 120 units. Production volume for the first seven months of this year was only 30. As Defense Express notes, there is insufficient data on how often the enemy has used the 3M22 Zircon in strikes against Ukraine this year to understand the consumption/replenishment ratio. The GUR data also mentions the Russian invaders possessing a modernized version of the 3M55 Onyx missile with an extended range. Fifty-five of these missiles were manufactured over a period of seven months.
