The Russians exploited the ceasefire in occupied Oleshky, Kherson Oblast, for military purposes, transporting heavy equipment into the town and surrounding villages. SkyNews journalists captured the footage and have now published it.
As Azad Safarov, chief producer of Sky News in Ukraine, explained , this video could not be shown until the residents of Oleshky reached Ukrainian-controlled territory.
"Now we are showing the world how the Russians used the evacuation, the so-called humanitarian corridor, for their military purposes," he wrote.
According to the producer, journalists observed how, before, during, and after the evacuation, Russians brought heavy equipment, weapons, and ammunition into Oleshky and neighboring villages.
"They brought in their people and food, went door-to-door, searching for basements for new positions. They rebuilt lost positions. They covered their tracks by removing the bodies of civilians killed by shelling and mines from the morgue," he recounted.
Safarov emphasized that this material must be shown to foreigners, diplomats, and the administration of US President Donald Trump, "who think Russians can be trusted."
He also thanked the 34th separate marine brigade "Borisfen" and the brigade commander personally for allowing journalists to film Russian crimes.
Colonel Dmitry Pulinets confirmed in a video that the military received information that during the ceasefire, the Russians were replacing artillery systems, rebuilding lost positions, rotating personnel, and increasing aerial reconnaissance assets and fuel reserves.
