Ukrainian military intelligence special forces have killed 108 Russian soldiers and captured another 29 during a seven-week operation in the northeastern Sumy region, according to Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate, HUR. The operation was carried out by GROUP 10, a special operations unit within HUR’s Active Operations Department. Ukrainian intelligence personnel struck more than 1,100 enemy targets and cleared over 600 hectares of forest of Russian forces. The operation disrupted Russian plans for an offensive and prevented Moscow’s troops from cutting off logistical routes used by Ukraine’s Defence Forces, the report said. After completing their mission, the Ukrainian special forces handed over the cleared positions to other Ukrainian defenders. Across the front line, 191 combat engagements were reported on October 27, with the heaviest fighting in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces launched 32 attacks, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
