Seen here at RAF Mildenhall and also its last departure from RAF Fairford following RIAT 2025, the USAF KC-10 was a hugely popular iconic aircraft loved by aviation enthusiasts and crew world wide – retired too soon in September 2024, we all thought we’d seen the last of these types flying around the World. But now there is not just one but two reasons to be hopeful we might see them visit our shores again. There are unconfirmed reports that four of the types are being readied for transfer to an unspecified North African Airforce. More significantly there is now confirmation that Omega Air has been successful in its bid to purchase and restore to flying condition ten KC-10s with a view to operating at least some of them in their air to air refuelling operations
