US Navy’s LATEST Destroyer Joins the Fleet — Inside USS Ted Stevens

The US Navy just commissioned its newest destroyer, the USS Ted Stevens, in Whittier, Alaska. It is the first Navy ship commissioning in Alaska since 2013. In this video we go inside the ship, look at its new SPY-6 radar, and break down the weapons, size, and capabilities of this Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.

The Ted Stevens is the most advanced version of the Arleigh Burke class. Built by Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi, it carries the SPY-6 Air and Missile Defense Radar, the Aegis combat system, and a 96-cell Mark 41 Vertical Launching System. We cover the commissioning ceremony, the ship's journey from Norfolk to Alaska, the interior, the command area, and what makes Flight III different from older destroyers.
