Heimdall

The Heimdall program looks to leverage advancements in machine learning to aid or automate targeting activities that are currently performed manually.

Accurately aiming at a potential target in the water from a moving ship is an extremely challenging task.

The software developed in Heimdall will automatically maintain gun system targeting in a dynamic environment.

Originally conceptualized for the Navy to track fast-moving maritime surface threats like small boats or torpedoes, the software's flexibility has allowed it to be tested by the U.S. Army on turret-mounted ground systems like CROWS (Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station) to engage small drones
