Are We Letting China Win the Tech War?

General

Are we choosing to lose the next war? That question might sound harsh, but I’m dead serious. Right now, America—and many of our allies—appear to be sleepwalking when it comes to critical military and technological innovations. Meanwhile, countries like China are pouring billions into STEM education, AI, and drone warfare, rapidly catching up (and in some cases overtaking) our capabilities. In 2020 alone, China graduated 3.57 million students in STEM fields, compared to America’s mere 413,000. Sure, not every degree is legit, but numbers don’t lie. China’s aggressive investment in AI, electronic warfare, and drone tech is paying off, potentially tipping the scales in their favor for future conflicts. Why does this matter? Because wars today—and tomorrow—are going to hinge on technology. If the U.S. can’t innovate faster, we risk losing our technological edge, putting ourselves and our allies at serious risk. Drones, CRPAs, electronic warfare—these aren’t just buzzwords, they’re the future of conflict. And right now, America is barely keeping pace.
